The Rush Keep Winning

By: Jerome Cusson

Someone get the American Conference a ladder. The only way they can climb up to the level of mediocre is by using one.

Seriously, the Rush are not only the only team above .500, but they’ve essentially won three different times this weekend while not even playing or practicing. The fact that the Rush are on a bye week later in the season and have gotten a chance to survey the lay of the land in their conference is a huge plus.

I mentioned how the Rush watched as they clinched a playoff spot courtesy of a San Jose Sabercats’ victory over the Arizona Rattlers. Last night kept the good news for the Rush coming.

The Colorado Crush needed to establish some sort of momentum. They’re going to be in the playoffs regardless, but to get a home playoff game the first week they needed to get some wins. Amazingly, they lost a road game to the Utah Blaze who I guess are one of the hotter teams in this conference because they’ve managed to win two games in a row.

The Grand Rapids Rampage might be on life support in their own city if they don’t make the playoffs. Losing to the Dallas Desperadoes puts them just one game ahead of the Blaze and Kansas City Brigade.

While a team with 10 wins in the National Conference may be lucky to even get in the postseason, a team in the American Conference with 10 losses may host a playoff game.
